I’ve been thinking…

Change is good, isn’t it?

Well, I thought I’d make some changes around here. I’ve had several requests to review movies lately, and it got me thinking. I love movies the same way I love books. Also, I already talk about movies all the time, so why not do it seriously? Let me tell you, there’s no reason why.

But then I asked myself, would it be better to review movies I go watch at the theaters or movies that have come out already? Well, I thought, why not do both?

I decided then to do two things:

Movie ranker: every week I will be focusing my movie reviews on a specific actor/actress/franchise/company. I will pick the movies (or T.V. shows, depending on the week’s topic), randomly using an app. Every Sunday I will post the final ranking of the movies I have reviewed throughout the week.

A night at the movies: I go to the movies a lot. It’s actually my favorite place in the world. And so every time I go watch a movie from now on, I’ll review it here. Sounds good? And Lauren, I’ll review Endgame at some point too, promise.

Now some bookish thoughts…

I did my first interview with an author this week!

It’s an interview with Jean Gill about her new book, Queen of the Warrior Bees. I will be posting it on Tuesday.  I will also host a giveaway! I have three ebook copies of Queen of the Warrior Bees, so if you’re interested in getting a free copy of the book, be sure to check the interview on Tuesday!

Well, that’s all for this week!

What about you? Do you like movies? How was your week? Link me your Sunday posts in the comments!

  2. I follow a few blogs that review films as well as books so I think if it’s something you’re passionate about then use your blog to shout about what you love.

Congratulations on snagging your first author interview, it’s quite a thrill.

Hope you have a great week Marti and enjoy your reads & movies.

  3. I love this idea! I don’t see many gold movie reviews and I’d love to have movie recommendations.

  4. I love movies! I like watching Netflix in the comfort of home but going to the movie is also nice although I don’t go as often as I used to. Sometimes I voice my thoughts about certain movies, for example, Good Omens. I love that show! I also love John Wick so if you have watched this show I’ll look forward to hearing your thoughts about it. Movie reviews are just as good as book reviews IMO. After all, they are more than often, a film adaptation of a book, right? I approve of your decision to write movie reviews. My Sunday Post

    1. Your comment is so sweet, thank you! ❤ I haven't seen Good Omens but I also like John Wick, I have recently watched it at the movies. I would be happy to review those! You are right, books and movies are in many ways similar and as you point out, oftentimes adaptations. Thanks for your beautiful comment!

    1. Thank you so much! ❤ I do think blogs should be about what you're passionate about. If not, what's the point right?
