I Can’t wait for… The Testaments by Margaret Atwood

Can’t-Wait Wednesday is a blog meme hosted by Tressa @ Wishful Endings that spotlights upcoming anticipated releases!

I read The Handmaid’s Tale after watching Hulu’s original series. The show is amazing and the book is so well written. The characters are tridimensional and the worldbuilding is so well done you actually believe that everything that happens can easily happen tomorrow. The story is scary, magnetic and so very real. Now, after 15 years of its publication, Margaret Atwood has announced a sequel is coming up and I can’t wait!

Title: The Testaments

Author: Margaret Atwood

Publish date: September 2019

Plot: Though there is not much information about the plot yet, we know the novel will take place 15 years after the final scene in the original novel, and apparently, it will be narrated by three female characters. I’m not sure if there will be characters that we already know or not, but I’m excited about this book and can’t wait for it to come out!

  1. I haven’t read anything by Margaret Atwood. Last year my brother’s girlfriend wanted me to go to a reading and it was MA and I didn’t go. I could kick myself now. =)
I hope you get a chance to read this.

  2. I’m really curious about this too. I’ve never read the book but I did watch the Hulu show, and the way it ends… the sequel definitely has me wondering what will happen next!

    1. Did you like the show? I think season 1 ends the way the book ends and everything after that has taken a different path. I guess we will have to see what this sequel is all about. Thanks for stopping by!

      1. I did like the show, but man it was dark! I kept waiting for a little hope and there was precious little of it! I so wanted Offred to catch SOME kind of break and she rarely did. And I’ve heard that too, that season 1 ended where the book did. I need to watch season 2!!
